For those that need or want to change their volume levels here is a 1 step process to change all your volumes on the phone. I went through EVERY volume on the phone and raised it. So if your volume rocker was 1-7 before. This will make your phone sound like 2-8. I even increased the db for all sound devices for phone calls a bit more. I also adjusted the whisper volume for the mic if other people have trouble hearing you.

This procedure makes all the other procedures absolete as this changings everything and overwrites any settings you previously had.  All at 1 time. I am hoping after doing this mod you will want to turn your volume down instead of wishing you had more. You should never be complaining about hearing the other person on the receiver or speakerphone again. It is nothing drastic that will blow speakers. But should be a great improvement.

At anytime you wish to go back to the default settings this procedure can easily be reversed by following the directions on this thread.

http://www.samsung-impression.org/lg-rumor-tips-and-tricks/restoring-original-volumes-in-service-menu/

This procedure involves using TKFileExplorer. If you have done any modifications on the phone already or installed apps and games you should be well knowledged.

Download the 4 files from below to your Computer. You do not have to change all 4 if you do not wish.  Each one is for a different sound device on your phone.

Go to the SystemFS/Driver folder on your phone using TKFE.  There should already be these 4 files there. If you wish to back them up please do so now by uploading them to your computer.

Do not delete the originals on your phone but instead just copy over  the file or files on your phone with the ones that you downloaded from below.  Make sure they completely copy over. If you get a disconnect error try again. Try closing TKFE and reopening it again and connect once more. As a last option only you may have to reboot your phone and try again. TKFE can be a real pain sometimes.

When finished disconnect from the computer and reboot your phone. All your volumes should be upgraded.

If you wish to just change individual volumes instead of this complete procedure continue reading this thread.

One user has supposedly bricked his/her phone twice attempting this mod. I have done it to my own phone  over 20 times and had no issues. I have even restarted my phone because of disconnect errors with partials of these files.  If you experience disconnect errors try to disconnect and reconnect first. Make rebooting your last resort.  The risk is always there. You assume full responsibility for everything you do to your phone.

One good way would be to prep your phone first to make sure it isnt going to give you disconnect errors. Make a text file at least 2k in length. Name it Dummy.txt. Before you try to copy over your sound text files send this one to that folder first. If it downloads to your phone fine then download the sound text file or files. If it disconnects reboot your phone and keep trying to download it. When it is successful then download the sound text files. Then go back and delete the dummy.txt file.

Here are the volume original and what I changed mine to.  These are for mp3 listening using the phone's speaker, listening to mp3's with headphones, and mic volume so others can hear you better. My changes are uniform and would be if it was 2-8 instead of 1-7 on volume control. Basically up 1 setting.  The first code *#197328640# is entered like you were making a phone call.

MP3's using headphones
EAR MP3 Volume, READ (*#197328640#, [8]audio, [2]ear config, [4]av-qtune, [1]ear mp3 vol)

 Original settings         Suggested Forum Settings
0. [2] rx: - 46.0 dB        0. [2] -39.0 db
1. [4] rx: -39.0 dB         1. [4] -32.0 db
2. [6] rx: -32.0 dB         2. [6] -25.0 db

5. [12] rx: -11.0 dB       5. [12] -4.0 db
6. [14] rx: -4.0 dB         6. [14] 3.0 db

enter -15 as -150. It uses 1 decimal place. 21 would be 210.  And -18.5 would be -185.

I have been looking for changing the volume of the impression, and have not done it yet as I dont know the best settings for the impression..

There was a post on the eternity forums about the perfect volume for the phone, has anyone done this, and are they the same settings as the impression??

The settings I used are above VKitty. If you follow the posts from the eternity site your volume will be inceased erratically. I increased mine evenly. I also increased my speaker for the mids which is like games and other sounds that are not mp3. They are increased seperately. I never posted them yet. Makes some games real loud that you cant adjust the volume on though.

If you think you really screwed something up I have another thread that tells you how to put everything back the ways it was.

Have you figured out how to correct the ringtone from being a increasing ringtone to a regular?  I was able on the Eternity but not this one yet.

Should be the same way as the eternity. Never bothered me. I consider it a convenience.
