The other post tells you where it is on your phone. Use TKFE to download it to your phone. Use wordpad to edit the file.

Three questions as I try to raise the volume of my bluetooth headset:

1)  Is this safe or not?  The first post says that files have been pulled... but the rest seem to indicate that it's working.  I don't want to brick my phone, and the bluetooth adjustment seems to be the one that has caused problems.

2)  If it's safe, what is the best way to raise my bluetooth headset volume for both ways (it's too quiet for me and the person I'm talking to).  Which values are those, and should I be going in via TKFE (which I have used to install games, thank you Mr. Moderator) or simply going into the phone's internals?

3)  What's a good starting point to raise my BT values to?

The files to completely overwrite the files were pulled. But the procedure is still there. If you look back a page or two you will see bluetooth recommendations.

OK, when I edited it via my phone's menu, all my bth values went up to the same number (as reported by others).  I guess I need to use TKFE if I want them to have various levels.

My other question remains:  do I need to alter all of the sets in the BTH menu, or just the first one or two?  I have no idea what each of these are...

[1] BTH Rx Call Vol
[2] BTH Rx Dtmf Vol
[3] BTH Codec Gain []
and so forth.  It goes to 8.

Sorry that this is probably a silly question, but all I really want to edit is the call settings for bth, both sending and recieving.

Thanks!

Right now you screwed your bt by editing it in the service menu. I suggest you find the other thread that has the original sound files and download it to your pc.

Then edit that file with wordpad.  You will see a section like this in there.

<CODEC_GAIN>   1
12         # Tx Voice Volume
-12         # Tx DTMF gain
10         # CODEC Tx gain
0         # CODEC Rx gain
-27         # CODEC sidetone gain
6         # Whisper Tx Vol

Change the 10 to like a 12 or 13 and change the 0 to 3 or 4. That will increase rx and tx for bluetooth calls. I suggest you start with the 3 and 12 for settings first.

Then write that file back to your phone as the other thread suggests. Well here is the other thread.

Thanks so much!  Love the phone, but the BTH volume was horrible.

I think it might be your bluetooth itself. Mine was fine.

It was said that those bt values cannot be changed in this thread. You can try to rebuild it but I cant promise it will work.  *#197328640# ------- 8 ------- 6 ------- 4   and select ok.  If that doesnt work you need to use a pc to fix the file.

Hi, this may be mentioned somewhere but I have re-read this thread and done a search and didn't see anything, so I figured I'd ask.  I would like to increase the LISTENING volume on my bluetooth, but not the microphone volume.  Would I want to change the codec rx gain or the codec tx gain?  Thanks!!

Dont hold me to it. But you should be able to follow this tutorial except select BTH instead of RCV and SPK and it should work for you.
