 Undecided

Ok, so I am confused. If I adjust my volume on the ringtones will it still do the increasing ring or will it just ring. Also, about the decible thing. On our phones now they are 1-7. If I were to type in the 15 would it be like me moving it to 7?! Sorry if I am confusing. Im just trying to figure this out, bc I hate the increasing volume!

Plz help.

If you wanted to stop the increasing ring you would have to change all your spk mp3 to the same setting. Then you would not have any volume control when listening to mp3's. And I dont know where you are getting 15 from??? #6 on the table is 7 on your volume control. Originally is is -4 and I changed mine to 0. If you changed all mp3 spk vol to 0 then you would have a constant loud ring and a contastant loud mp3 player.

Dont you have a volume control on your bluetooth? Turn it up. Just Kidding.

Your volume for you bluetooth can be adjusted the same way. Instead of spk or ear select bt. Look for <RX_QTUNE_VOL> I believe the values go from -160 to -40. Try adding 20 to each value to start. So they would be -140 to -20. If thats not loud enough add some more. This will increase mp3 volume.

For calls. Look for <RX_CALL_VOL>. They range from -80 to 40. Try adding 20 to each of these values also. You would have -60 to 60. Adjust to your preference.

Punkfreak the only recommended volume is what is set by samsung. You change values at your own discrepancy.

All the volume tables are set up the same way. Whether it is ear, spk, rcv, or bluetooth or you are changing call, mps, or mid sounds they all can be changed in the same way.

At this point in time use some common sense. When you enter the rcv call volume table you are presented with the values of -80 to 100. There are seven values 0-6 and the difference between each is 30.  0 is 1 on your volume control and 6 is 7. Now it all depends on how loud you want it and how long you want your speaker to last. Since the difference is 30 if you added 30 to each it would be like your volume control was 2 - 8 instead of 1 - 7. Are you catching on? If you just wanted to change the highest setting then just change the #6 value.

I totally agree with Agoattamer that you should stick with Samsung's settings however for me the volume is still not loud enough when driving so I raised it just a tad.

If you choose to raise yours you recognize that you may be running the risk of lowering your speakers lifespan.

(for me this tweak left 1-5 alone but 6 and 7 feels one notch higher)

I thought I'd share my EAR settings.  The main reason why I started fiddling with this was that the video volume was too low, and perhaps the shows that I've downloaded have a lower volume.  My first choice in what to try to change were the EAP MP3 settings, and that did the trick.

What I show below is not linear, its a bit more aggressive towards lowering the volume at the end.  I like the top (7) to be higher than necessary, say for an emergency use in a very loud situation with a lot of ambient noise.  Then the higher ranges (6,5,4) to be closer together (+/-5dB) so that I can find that just-right volume.  Lower than that (1,2,3) is for being able to hear things to varying degrees going on around me.

0. [2] rx: -26.0dB
1. [4] rx: -19.0dB
2. [6] rx: -12.0dB
3. [8] rx: -5.0dB
4. [10] rx: 0.0dB
5. [12] rx: 5.0dB
6. [14] rx: 10.0dB

OK here's the dealio with those high gains.  Either the movie player plays at a lower volume, or the particular movie I transcoded for the Impression naturally had a low volume.  (Not sure why the latter would be the case, it was a run-o-the-mill TV show.)  Via headphones:   so when I play music the 5dB is too loud and the 10db is really freakin' too loud.  But when I play a movie on the subway, the 10dB gain is just a bit past perfect, and the 5dB is just right.

I know before I say it, not another gadget. lol. I have an inline speaker volume that I used for something. Has a male and a female 3.5mm jack at either end. You could use that to tone it down.

Did you ever think about getting yourself a nice pair of stereo bluetooth headsets?
