i think ive found how to enable pop3 and imap emails on our phones... im just having a little touble testing it...

go into the internals menu, then protocol, then mms setting, then check enable email....

this will add email inbox to your message menu... if you go into message settings there is a wizard at the bottum to set up the email... after that you have to define a connection, do that in email profiles..... now heres where im stuck... when i go into the inbox and hit download to retreve messages, i get unknown failure... ive tryed medianet and mms connection with both gmail and yahoo.... could someone else take a look at this to see if they can help me get this working... i think i remember a few ppl asking about pop mail on here a while back

posting this from my impression

Search the forums. People have been working on this for a while. As exciting as it is, do not make new threads declaring you have "found" something on the Internals page before you check to see if anyone else has done it. There are too many dangerous items on there that we dont need people trying anything on a whim. Smiley

Sorry, I think I am dual foruming too much. I thought about that before posting, but I was thinking it was in this forum. Should have searched...anyways, I apologize for that.

For future reference to any new Impression owners, the Eternity site has tons of information, most of which is applicable to the Impression (And the Solstice, but thats just for me).

Not that I dont want people to explore the internals. But remember we dont have our firmware. If you brick your phone there is no way to get it back at the moment. People on the eternity forum have been working with this since the day I found the master key. They have not been able to get the email fully working as of yet. Please allow them to do the testing for the moment. Just want to say be careful.

Thanks for the tip AGoat.  You can relate to the sinking sensation of knowing that you T-Mo Sidekick owner friend can access her Exchange Mail through it and you can't.

Seven looks good on the premise. I signed for the Beta program, downloaded the Out of Office Version, but I can't make it run. Gets stuck in the confirmation screen (where you put your phone number).

And get this, I tried to "Goatbreak"  it Wink but the modified JAd never made it through using TKFE.

Any  help is appreciated.

Did you download it using your phone or computer? You will need their JAD for it to work properly.

I doanloaded the jad file and tried modifying it to be fullscreen and touch (using code below) but it's not responding to touch. Ideas?

MIDlet-Touch-Support: True
UseNativeTextButtons: false
ReverseSoftkeys: true
UseNativeCommands: false
LGE-MIDlet-TargetLCD-Height: 400
LGE-MIDlet-TargetLCD-Width: 240

A-Goat:

I downloaded the Out of Office version from my phone using the url provided on the download page.  Installation went well. When I started the the app, the phone verification page came up, I wrote my phone number (+1XXX-XXX-XXXX).  The app then tries to verify but nothing happens.   Angry

Now, here's the crazy thing.  There's an errand "SEVEN" directory on my EXE/Java/Games directory. So, every time, I download seven, its jad file becomes "SEVEN_01"  on my phone's Game and Apps directory.

Help as always, is appreciated.   Grin

It is not touchscreen therefor you cant make it fullscreen. Dpad must be left there to use the app.

Thats because you have a partially installed version on your phone. Uninstall the version from your games and apps folder and delete the rest of the versions using TKFE. Then install this version using TKFE and updating the databases with the master key. I believe the format for your phone number is 5555555555.
