Newbie,

So I entered the first two codes.  Right after the second it had the option to install and I did.  It then said restating and it did.  I never got to enter the Master Key for the internals.  Auh, now what Huh  Do I do this process again?

Sounds like you just did a preconfig reset? Why did you do that? Just cause we gave you the code didnt mean you were supposed to do it.

Not even sure what you are trying to do.

Well fair enough, as you can see I don't know what I am doing.  What I am pretending to do is to unlock my phone.  Isn't that what the master key is supposed to do?  At what step was I supposed to enter the MK?

Thanks.

No thats not what the master key does. It allows you to access some internal settings. But only those who know what they are doing should go  there. You can brick your phopne very easily.

Not sure what you mean by unlocking. There is no debranding for this phone. And if you want to unlock it for other carriers you need a unlock code from ATT.

I think you need to read some more before you hurt your phone.

Yes you are right about reading.  I thought I read that by doing this process I could install games and such more easily without messing with the DB.  Is this a good use for the MK?

That is a good use of the master key. That is why we have a tutorial on it.

He was talking about unlocking games and gps. Not unlocking phone for other carriers I believe.

Now... i hate to be the idiot of the group, but may I ask: what does this code do? Rather, what does it allow me to do?
