Well, I just bit the bullet and ordered an Impression. Should be playing with it by the end of the week.

I'm coming from the original iPhone...so I'm a little nervous as to whether the Impression will live up to the iPhone as far as apps go. I'm not looking for the ability tp DL tons of useless apps, just a nice weather app & a movie showtime app mainly. Oh, and my guilty pleasure known as lolcats  Cheesy

I've been doing a little research on this site (which BTW is great!!) and am looking forward to the tweakability of the Impression. With the iPhone I'd jailbreak with every FW update, so I'll be doing lots of hack research on here. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions...but I'll try to make best use of the search function first.

Boy o boy, I can't wait to get my hands on the a877.

Glad to see that you are no longer a yuppie!  Cheesy

Welcome aboard. I just got mine not too long ago and have already hacked it all up.

Some apps that I have had fun with are the google maps with gps (which iphone doesnt offer), amazegps, trapster, bolt, bantam paint +, and many others.

download TKFileExplorer, IB5, and learn how to goatbreak and you will love your phone in no time.

I had an impression for 3 months and switched to an iphone. There is no comparison. The iphone is like a pocket computer and allows me to actually get some work done while away from my pc.  Yes it does cost more per month for the iphone, but for me it is worth it. Im also a stock trader ( retired) and I use it to access my etrade account and place trades. Becase of my abillity to place trades when not at my pc ( usually when things happen!)  my iphone is basically fee because it has more than payed for itself.
I am no longer stuck at my desk. I actually watch streaming live CNBC on the iphone when away from home.

I gave my impression to the wife and she loves it. She basically uses it for a phone and some texting, as well as the calander and contacts function, and she swears by it.  Both my sons have impressions as well and like them.
I guess it's a case of  "to each his own".

Yes you really cant compare the iphone to the impression. One is full feature and the other is a smartphone. I recently upgraded to a HTC HD2. But for what the impression is, it is a great phone if you really dont need what the iphone has to offer.

My HD2 will eat it up and spit it out.  Grin And I say that in ever so humble of a way.
