I have had my VU for 2 years and looking to move to a newer, nicer and faster phone plus going to jump into a data plan.  I thought I was going to go with the Mythic BUT in looking at it I found is was soo slow and laggy, the Impression was right next to it and man did it blow it away in every way possible, the display is much nicer, the qwerty keyboard is nice and spacious and what really surprised me was internet surfing on the Impression was MUCH faster and nicer and even had a great ZOOM feature, something the mythic does not have.
So I am 99.9% I am going with the IMpression, a question if someone cans answer for me, is there way here to put a weather widget on the main screen to always show the weather and is there way to put a gmail icon on the main screen to access my mail directly?  I have hacked/modded my present LG VU these past 2 years to look and act just like a iPhone or HTC Hero with the help of the guys over on the LG-VU.com forum and hoping the same kind of modding and customizing is going on here at Samsung-Impression.com forum.

UPDATE: I'M HERE-BOUGHT MY IMPRESSION YESTERDAY AND LOVING IT!!

If you are going to get the data plan, you might want to look into a smart phone.  A few of us here have both (As we love them both)

I have(on its way) palm pre plus(on AT&T), and AGoat & Quig have HTC HD2 (Not on AT&T).  If you would like more info one ANY phone let us know, most of us are familiar with alot of them!

I still love my impression, its the best non smart phone out there!!

There is an accuweather widget you can install. Also a Gmail widget that uses the web browser to get the email.

Thanks guys,
Unfortunately I have 5 lines on my account(wife and kids) and the wife has a iPhone with the $30 data plan so sadly I can't spring for another $30 data fee required with a smartphone(3 daughters can be quite expensive and I need to be frugal in some areas lol).
I have been having problems getting the weather Widget on my phone as I posted in the appropriate thread, also the gmail widget I did load and unfortunately it just won't accept my name and password to log in, I have been able to access my mail through the browser though so I will get the gmail widget problem fixed AFTER I get the darn Weather widget installed and working.... Goat, I see you are THE MAN here and have been doing some great work on modding the Impression, can you please take a look at the posting I did on my weather widget problem? I just didn't understand if I needed to download and install the file from Innovator site to my computer then to my phone using TKExplorer or do it from the phone itself. This is so much different from modding my VU, going to have to change my thinking on the whole  procedure of modding now with my new Impression. Thanks again guys. PaulT

Battery kind of scares me though, had to recharge it before days end both days, I am on it quite a bit surfing the web and such, just thought it would last longer..

Yeah, the battery life on it is not the best especially when web surfing and watching movies - the screen's amazing though and sometimes they skimp on other parts when they give you something awesome somewhere else.  You could try getting a second battery (OEM though, don't settle for some branded, branded battery) to help you get through the day if it's running down that quickly.
