Hello, I have had my Samsung for a long time and somehow my warranty got extended (YEA!) at Best Buy when I had to replace it.

But, I am having to replace it again for stalling sending text messages and other things. Sad

When I replace, I'm tempted to change to another phone, IF allowed.  Is there any other phone that you would change to (NOT SMARTPHONE) that would equally please or surpass my a877?

I would prefer to KEEP: panoramic sweep, this site for downloading ringtones, Ringtones for my individual callers, still accessing my hotmail emails, ther Free GPS street maps/directions

Would PREFER:  Conversational messaging,

Convince me to keep, or steer me to another great phone!  THANK YOU!!!!

Welcome to the Forum Smiley

It seems the messaging bug is wide spread and unexplainable- replacing your phone may not fix it as it is so random.  I have heard that they are not even giving the impression as a replacement anymore and the most common replacement is the LG Vu plus.  I have no experience with it so cannot comment.  In looking around, I am pretty impressed  -no pun intended  Cheesy- with the new HTC freestyle.  Seeing it is new, probably not as customizable as the impression is yet- will have to wait to see what great minded hacker will be able to do with it now that it is being sold.

As for conversational texts (I think you are referring to threaded texting) I do not know of that ability on any non-smartphone phones...

Good luck!

Not that I am recomending it but the new solstice 2 has theaded texting 3 homescreens uses same apps and games as the impression. Has widgets as well. The only issue at the moment is getting TKFE to connect to it so that the apps can be goatbroken or installed direct, master code works. One member of the solstice forum that owns the solstice ii just posted what sounded like he did get TKFE to connect but waiting for confirmation that this is true.

Wink I am also intersted in seeing the new HTC freestyle as well since it is still a quick messaging phone and not a smartphone. It should arrive at the stores tomorrow. I have also been looking around for a Samsung Vibrant because Goat had posted that if unlocked you could use your current sim and still only pay the $15 for unlimited data. Considering that att at least in my area is still asking $149 even as a upgrade for the captivate. The idea that I could get a vibrant with a 16gb card new in the box off ebay or craigslist for $250 is'nt sounding to bad since a 16gb card costs around $99. I have some time still before I would be able to upgrade anyways and who knows what will be out by then but the idea of picking up a vibrant is tempting. I am quite happy with my impression and solstice but the thought of android well..... no more said.  Roll Eyes

Talk to ATT. They will lower price of captivate to $49 to match walmart. My Droid 2 comes in tomorrow for work... can't wait.
