Well I order my Impression from Amazon Wireless and waiting for it to show up today.  I can't wait to get it since I came from an old samsung flip phone.  My fiancee upgraded her phone a few weeks ago and got the LG Xenon.  I tried it out and didn't really find it thats interesting.  The only thing I did thought it was cool was that you could easily install games and apps on it with no hassle.  Still I find the impression looks way better (hope I'm right).  I'm planning on learning how to develop some java games and maybe even do some wallpapers design.  I have some knowledge in C++ programming and even built a robot with a C++ like program that avoid obstacles.  So I'm hoping I will be able to catch on a little be quicker when learning java.  If anyone have any advice or maybe some *free* software to develop with other then the one from the sun website feel free to let me know.  Now I do have a couple of questions.

1.  What is the best way you do you think is to break in this battery?
2.  Also I read if correctly that you mush install the IB5 and tkfileexplorer before you even plug the phone up to the computer?
3. I notice mention that you have to delete the phonedb_data.00 after you install a game or app and you have a chance of bricking your phone. So my question is why is that and also does it create a new phonedb_data.00 after each time you delete it and reboot?

Welcome to the forum. The Impression in my opinion is a much better quality, slightly bigger and better features than the xenon. Andyes you have noticed it is a liitle more difficult getting games on the impression also. Hopefully you have an unlimited data plan.

The procedure to install games is by downloading them from a wap site. Others that dont have an unlimited data plan are forced for the moment with the TKFE install method. Its not as simple as the xenon as just placing the files on the phone and running the jars. Apps/games have to be installed in the phones file system and entered in the phones data base(Phonedb_data.00). The abridged version is you put the games and apps in a folder for each inside the games folder. You then delete the phon.... file. When you restart your phone it rebuilds the data base installing everything in the games folder fpr you. However it also deletes your phone's memory. And if not performed correctly it can brick your phone. I have only done it once and that was scary enough for me.

The drivers for the phone should be installed with PC-Studio IB5. Our version IC8 is ok too however it lacks alot of features so we use the eternity's version. Its better to install it first so your computer doesnt try to install generic drivers that can make havoc getting TKFE to connect with your phone.

Bantam Bytes has a thread on the forum. He is the java programmer for this and the eternity site. He would be the one to contact to ask your questions.

And as far as the battery, the best way that I know is charge it fully and run it dead and do it again and it should be alright. Dont expect the battery time out of these phones as the older flip phones.

i hope I answered your questions and if not search and ask some more.  Have fun on the forum You wont be sorry with your phone with some of the stuff we can do to it.

Thanks for the respond.  One thing I still don't really understand is how you would brick your phone.  You said if not performed correctly you could brick it.  How could you mess it up if your only deleting one file and its the same one.  Didn't know if you mean if you place files in the wrong part of the phone or just maybe prehaps delete the wrong file is what will brick it.  Thanks alot.

P.S.  I got the phone and its really cool.  Now I have to get it replace though cause there crap underneath the screen when I got it so that suck since I been waiting for this phone since sunday.
