getting a new phone

in the next two months and its going to be the samsung captivate, since its a smartphone, would i have to get a new data plan since its a smartphone?...i've had an unlimited plan for over 2 years and i wanna knw by getting the samsung captivate, would my unlimited data plan go away?...i use the internet a lot

No, I thought if your "Grandfathered" in then nothing will change. Anyone with new data plans i think will have to pay $15 for 2MB.

I'm assuming you have an Impression with the $15 unlimited data plan? If so, you can't keep your unlimited plan. You will have to choose either the $15 200mb plan or the $25 2gb plan.

nevermind, i checked and so far just this month i've used 967MB and i have until the 6th of september when my bill cycle starts again:)...yes i guess it wont matter if i dont have unlimited data plan

I just switched to the captivate the weeks ago. I am never going back! I kept the $15 dollar plan. I am ALWAYS on the internet doing something (on it now), and still am not even close to going over the 2 gig limit. The captivate is an awesome phone. My only gripe is the gps doesn't work right. (supposed to be fixed by samsung, but we all know how that has worked out with the other samsung phones)
