Well I took the plunge today to droid. My upgrade was not due till july and I have had my eye on the the htc aria because I really like it because of the size. I don't like the size of the new android phones and as some of you know from my widgets I have thing for the htc sense widget. Well last week ATT pulled the aria off of the shelves at the stores. So I started thinking by the time my upgrade came around the aria may not be available so started watching craigslist and yesterday someone put one up. The phone ended up being in almost mint condition and a price I could not pass up. So I am now the proud owner of an aria. I am not planning on getting rid of my impression or my solstice and am not planning on leaving the forums. I will be here to the end because this is one great forum and I am glad to be apart of it. ;-))

Haha, android for you. Goodluck with Aria. Won't be long before you will want a big screen android phone to play with.  Wink

Funny you say that because right before the aria came up on craigslist someone had posted an htc hd2 (goats phone of choice) and I actually contacted them about it because I know you can port droid to it but I just couldnt get past the size it is so big. So went with the aria.

This almost sounds like a confession!!  As much as we have the divine ability we forgive you!!

I am surprised they are pulling the Aria already, not too old a phone, guess the small size was not a big seller.  I know (from the experience I have had already with my work phone) you will love what you can do!!  I am just wishing it was actually MINE so I can do more!  Just make sure you don't pull a Louie and brick it exploring too much!

Cheesy Very funny. Well I rooted it last nite and installed a liberated froyo 2.2 with sense. So no ATT bloatware. Grin

Yay, got the message from LG that my phone is fixed!

Problem is waiting for it. I'm not going to get it shipped back, so my relative over there is going to hold it for me until June when I visit again.

Why get an Aria? You should get that new HTC phone thing that I heard about, but didn't really look into, but heard it's suppose to be super cool.

And you're off and running already!  I wish I could root my droid- don't wanna take the chance seeing it is not really "mine" anyway!!  Gotta wait to get a captivate in June...

Just remember that rooting a phone voids any warranty. I bought mine used so no warranty so I figured what the heck lets give it a try plus with the new rom I now have live wallpapers. ;-))

With the help of the Droid forum, I am quit enjoying it.  If it were not a work phone I would be doing much more to it.  Battery life is horrid- I can watch it going down throughout the day as it sits on my desk...  Responsiveness and customizability is amazing.

Still counting down to the Captivate in 2 1/2 months...

The battery life was a killer problem with mine as well. I just picked up two extra 1500 batteries and a wall charger for them off ebay for less than 30 bucks with shipping and they are OEM so now I don't even worry about trying to turn this and that off to conserve battery power. LOL I have three batteries so just flip them as needed.  Wink

The funny thing about the Optimus One community is that there are tons of variants of the Optimus One. While the people that have Optimus T/S/M/Vortex/etc. are trying to figure what works on their phone and what doesn't, I just sit back and relax about that issue, because I have the one and only original Optimus One.

Yay for being in Asia, and buying the original European/Asian phone that the American model is based of off.
