I've found out how to remap the icons on the "Menu" page.

Was digging around in the nv_default file and found some interesting strings. Changed them, did a master reset, and found that the icons had been remapped. I will be posting a picture of my Menu screen this weekend (maybe even sooner).

Until then...

Sweetness! Not that it really matters to me, but it'd be cool to be able to mess around with my phone again ^^

I'm trying to find a way to edit the nv and let changes take place without a master reset. I think I can achieve this through the pre-config menu...

Please stop doing this, Luie. A forum is not the same thing as twitter. Once you figure out something, get some results (and pictures if necessary) and only then create a thread about it.

I totally disgree. No reason why he can't post what he has posted. When I get my HD2 back from the shop I will also be messing around with this. Always wanted to but was waiting on the firmware first.

Since he has started the thread someone even gave him a link that might aid him. I see no wrong. If and when everything is figured out the first post will be edited.

Thats cool I just thought the link might help because it looked like they had a list of numbers for the icon assignments and they did not seem to have done to much with for a while now. Was just an fyi for you. =}

Not sure if the mythic is formatted the same way. But they have been able to edit their menu. Might want to check that forum and see if anything looks familiar.

I think I've found out how to edit the nv and let changes take place without a master reset (or maybe just a lead).

Pics will be up soon. I'm going to scan my phone like the people at the Eternity forum did. It seems to be a higher quality than doing it from Photo Booth. (My scanner is not working currently.)

Ah, I do hope you get around to posting what you've found.

I bought an imported Impression in New Zealand (imported costs NZ$190, not imported nearest equivalent you're looking at about NZ$300). Of course, this has the unfortunate side effect that at&t branding is all over this thing.

While I've erased most of the greater signals that this is an at&t (rather than the local Telecom XT) phone, the menus betray the illusion. If I could remove the at&t menus (or at least make them less prominent) then I'd be a lot happier with this. Smiley
