(Sideswipe: Samsung phones, when brought to New Zealand, use the default TouchWiz interface with no carrier modifications. Aren't we lucky?)
So there's a Samsung Impression firmware without all of the AT&T stuff? I hope somebody finds it.  Wink

No, I don't think so. I never said anything about the Samsung Impression being in New Zealand. I don't think the SGH-A877 is sold outside the US normally.

im just goofing around. i just dont like the black and pink themed media player. and sorry for using the term "gay" to describe the menu icons. i'll rephrase. "those menu icons are insipid and insanely dull". maybe goat should just hijack the at&t mainframe and "borrow" some info. seems smart enough. haha -only joking-

Sorry, been busy. Someone PMed me about posting the instructions. Forgot about this thread a while back.

I'll have to make a clear and easy to follow guide, so please wait a little bit more. After I finish writing and editing in Word, I'll post the guide. Cheesy

Changing around the menu items is just editing a file (changing around random numbers) correct? If so, it wouldn't be too hard to write some sort of program to make the process a little easier. I'm not the biggest programmer in the world (I mainly use Liberty BASIC but I'm sort of trying to learn C#, although I have kind of given up on that lol) but I might attempt it to see how difficult it would really be.

I got the following instruction from Luie for changing the icons...  I have not attempted it myself and by looking at the instruction and the actual file in TKFE it brought up some questions about possible configurations.  I am wondering if you can configure the menu to have fewer or more icons... maybe 9 instead of 12- seeing a few of mine are dead anyway!

So here it is- what we have been waiting for...  Have fun but do at your own risk just like everything else!!!

(For specifics, contact Luie!!!)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Look for NV_SI_MAIN_MENU_BLOCK in nv_default.

NV_SI_MAIN_MENU_BLOCK_01 is for first icon, NV_SI_MAIN_MENU_BLOCK_02 for the one to the right of that, NV_SI_MAIN_MENU_BLOCK_03, one right of that, NV_SI_MAIN_MENU_BLOCK_04 first one on next line, etc.

Change number after NV_SI_MAIN_MENU_BLOCK_0X=
