All Samsung does is manufacture the phone.  Believe it or not but AT&T designs the phone.  Samsung also supplies the firmware's source for AT&T to make, customize, debug, and compile.  So the only thing your complaining about with samsung should be the hardware.  It's AT&T's crappy debug system, and cheap, fast, careless programming which is the cause for most, if not ALL problems with the phone.
Absolutely correct. Samsung makes good stuff. I may not be too happy with the Impression, but I love the Blackjack II. Plus have the Samsung TV, LCD monitors, R580 notebook, cameras etc and they are well made gear.

The problem here is AT&T. In my case they way you can't program the backlight or home screen to come on off and on for text mail and the lack of apps for other programs etc. This is all on AT&T, not Samsung.

So undiscovered, grow up or go somewhere else.  Wink

Let's play nice now people. The locked screensavers are like this on all the related samsung java type phones. But the point to be made is not that samsung did not make them configureable,  they should have made them at least unisex.

If your staying with AT&T, your gonna get the same quality software with all of their phones. . . . .  Have you tried TMobile?  From what I know, TMobile's software policies aren't so harsh and allow the manufacturers to use whatever OS they want.

What basis do you have to make this comment?

I guess I could say not much.  Most of what I've been told by a cousin, and what I've read.  My point is  just cause there is some product out there that has problems doesn't mean that everything made by that company is bad, and that the mistakes being made might still be found across a wide variety of things, in this case phones, and how they are created and then totally forgotten about and abandoned.

I'm just going to wait and see what happens on this one. I don't have Windows on my Mac anymore (installed Ubuntu Lucid Lynx...).

When I get the Windows XP install disk from my dad I will be happy to test this though.

EDIT: Installed WINE in Ubuntu, and downloaded the software. It loaded in WINE. I had to switch the language from Spanish to English. Under the RBM and RSRC2 tab, there was a RBM section of the window. It said something about width and height.

I believe this is legit, except it is only useful for the older Samsung phones (non Touchwiz).

Someone prove me wrong.
