After thinking about various ways of creating a slideshow of your favorite pics for the background of the home page i started thinking about those animated backgrounds that you can get for your background (from the link agoattamer posted). I know that these are created using multiple layers of different pictures. So i started brainstormin..

Would it be possible to maybe use a few of your favorite pictures (im not sure of the max # possible) to create a .gif file of your favorite pics using photoshop or some other photo software?

This is not exactly my area of expertise hence why I am asking Smiley

Damien on here is decent with photoshop. There is also numerous videos on the web and maybe even a free gif maker program on the web. But Im sure it can be done. You could even set the times so each picrure shows for like 10 secs more or less. I am going to look into it myself. That is a good idea.

I tried some animated backgrounds for wallpaper and they lagged on
my phone and the thought came to mind since they were constantly
working in the background it may shoot my battery time but i'm not sure
cause i bailed on these things and didn't really give it time to really add
any value to my statement, so i could be wrong, so i guess i wasn't much help here...;-(

I agree with you jackpot. I think the animated screens do put a little more starin on the battery and the phones speed. But they look nice.   Grin

well the lag of animations doesn't have to do with what i had in mind Smiley but any input is helpful.

What I was thinking is doing the same process but making the pics have longer time between changing pics (several seconds) and thus lag might actually be a little helpful in a way as it accomplishes our goal Tongue

In Photoshop ImageReady you can do that. You can make each slide as long as you want.
I just recently edited a .gif to make it from 240 x 320 to 240 x 400 using ImageReady Cheesy

I would be glad to help you make a slideshow background. Just post all your background photos you would like in the slideshow and I will be happy to make you one. NOTICE: These types of backgrounds will take away from the battery faster than normal wallpapers.

PC Studio has the capability of making a slide of your favorite photos and saving them as a .gif file.  You can add up to 20 photos and change how many seconds you have between each.  I have made several that I use as wallpaper and even made some for contact caller ID photos.   I have not noticed any extra strain on my battery what so ever, in fact when my phone goes to sleep it stops and when I touch the screen or unlock my phone it starts where it left off.

I have PC Studio version 1.2.1 IH1.  All you have to do is open the media manager and then click the photo icon and import the photos by clicking the down arrow next to the Menu.  After you have imported the photos click on the "create slide" icon towards the bottom and it will let you size your photos and set how many seconds are between each.  When your all done click the "save" icon and it will save your slide as a .gif in the same area that you imported all the photos to.

Hope this helps.
