I have a song that I want to add as my main ringtone. For some reason the "set as" button is greyed out though. I tried converting the file to wav and mp3 formats but the button is still greyed out.

Im going to call samsung tomorrow and ask but does anyone know without having to sit on hold tomorrow.

If you want it as a ringtone it needs to be under 300k in size.

how can I do that? Whats the best file type for that siz etc.. Surely its easier than converting and chopping a file. On my other phones mp3's worked fine as ringones.

Well I dont know what phones you used before. Every phone I ever used had to have a certain size mp3 file. And the question is why you need a full song when it only rings from 20-30 seconds before voicemail picks up.  And the beginning of most songs dont make good for ringtones.

I use a free program called audicity to clip or decrease the bitrate. Just search for it on the net.  There are many topics on the forum already discussing this.
