Convert MP4 to MP3, then make into ringtone

Does anyone know any good (free) programs that allow you to convert MP4 songs into MP3, then splice them to create ringtones? I have a couple song ideas for my ringtone and I want to use songs from my ITunes, but I don't know how to convert them and make them shorter.


Or, does anyone know any good programs in general that can do this?

i tried it, but they won't let you upload MP4s

It's not free, but I use Tunebite.

It's like $26 for the software, and it allows you to convert WAV's and MP4's to MP3's, then it also gives you the option to make a ringtone out of any of those files you converted.

I have a Rhapsody account that I pay $12 a month for, download every album/artist that tickles my fancy, convert it overnight, and voila! Grab whatever song off there, and make it into a ringtone.

I would be lost, and music free without Tunebite, seriously, lol

Roxio converts? Damn I didn't know that, and I have that, FREE, and went ahead and got tunebite.

I had no clue that was possible. I just always assumed it'd need flipped, like a recording or whatever

Yet another software program incompatible with Vista! Woohoo!

Apparently, 7 is already 100x better than Vista ever thought about being. Compatible with almost everything, a bajuillion less kinks and bugs to fix. I guess Vista was one of those programs that just didn't get the time needed to complete it, Microsoft wanted to throw something new out there because Mac is kicking its jerk, so instead of giving us a really great product to work with, they give us a shoddy OS that make people want macs even more. Makes sense, yea?
