If you have any kind of MP3 you can make your own custom ringtones @ http://www.makeownringtone.com/

Its nice to have a place where you can get ring tones from any of your MP3s, the nice thing about this place is its free  Grin

Also their instructions are easy to follow, and you can send them to your phone or save them to your computer.

Have fun!

i am having problems putting the song/ring tone on to my phone.  I converted it and uploaded it.  At least i thought i did.  I used pc studio to upload it, but when i look for it on my phone i can't find it.  So i used tkfie to upload it to the media section located under the phone and i still can't find it.  the song is under 300k.  Can anyone help?

Thanks

Easiest way to install your ringtones is with a usb cable and put your phone in mass storage mode or media player mode. Then you can drag and drop. Mass storage only sees the memory card and media player mode sees the memory card and the phone's media folders.

Using PC-studio is slower and just isnt needed.

Menu -> Settings -> Connectivity -> Select USB Mode ->

I just want to add that this is my favorite and the easiest web site to make ringtones. I've been using it for a couple of months now and completely forgot to come back here and thank you VKitty for the hook up. Thank you.

Peace

I've been using myxer.com for ringtones. You can upload songs from your computer to the website and choose duration of the tone and where in the song the ringtone starts. Sends a text to your phone with a link and you download from that. I've found it pretty easy to use. First 2 downloads are free, after that you have to sign up for an account but it's still free. I haven't seen a massive influx of spam so they're not selling your email or anything.

Is there a program where you can do this directly on the phone itself.. i have a treo 680 and its the greatest thing in the world... i can do just about anything on it... there is a program where you take your songs that are on your memory card and then crop it and save on the phone then go to settings and use as ring tone.. it was great. My sister got the impression.... ive been playing around with it for like a week and honestly i hate it.. atleast compared to the treo. Sorry to go off topic.. but yea.. any ringtone program?

No, not a smart phone. You have to edit them off the phone.

forget makeyourownringtone and zedge!

try www.myxer.com

known previously as; 3gupload, and 3guppies

its a free registration and uploading is FARRR easier than those other sites

auto formats proper bitrate and file size based on your phone (i believe?)
assuming you keep it between (20-40 sec) havnt tried making a longer ringtone but WHY? would you make a longer ringtone?

also iphone compatible  Grin
