Is there any way to allow full permission to games? Such as GH5 (downloading better quality songs) and what not?

Same applies to games as it does apps. Your issue is with GH5 and not the process. It worked before. Maybe the servers are not running for GH5 now.

Hi all, I am new to this forum. I would like to than Agoattamer for his hard work at cracking the Samsung phones.
I have 4 NONSMART phones on an ATT account and for the past year I have used ALL of them for tethering with the "Unlimited Data for NONSMART phones" plan for only $10/month per phone. It has worked FLAWLESSLY. I have used HUNDREDS of GIGABYTES per month with NO CONSEQUENCE. In fact I never hid from anything, as AT&T reps all over the board told me it was perfectly within terms.
Recently, I found this forum looking to unlock my GPS for use with aftermarket apps. I followed the instructions, and it worked GREAT for MgMaps and AMAZE. But I couldn't get GoogleMaps to pull my gps.
BUT.......the point of this post is.........COINCIDENTALLY, less than 24 hours after I "goatbroke" my phone and started playing with the gps, I got a text from ATT saying "Did you know tethering a Smartphone to a computer requires a tethering plan?".
I called them and they are now insisting I stop tethering because it is in violation of their fine print terms and if I don't, I will get charged$$$$
Now, I don't know for sure if goatbreaking and master keying my phone somehow initiated some sort of change in my account in their system, but the circumstances are suspicious. I only got these texts on TWO of my phones, both of which have NOT been used extensively tethering in the past month, in fact one, my wife's phone and primary on the account, has hardly any data usage at all comparatively. However the two phones that I HAVE been using for LOTS of data DID NOT GET THE TEXTS! So I am really confused as to what actually went down, and if they will hit up all of my phones now, or just the one, or just the two, or what?Huh
If anyone has any knowledge on this, please advise.
I just wanted to put this out there to let everyone be aware and hopefully someone who knows way more than I do will enlighten me.

Getting caught for tethering has nothing to do with goatbreaking your apps on the impression. They can see what you are doing since your pc browser and such shows up differently with the data being transferred through your data plan. This is something ATT has come down on hard lately.

If you downloaded google maps through google then it will not use the gps.  That is how it is written.  There is a version on this forum that will use the gps though.   Wink

Thanks for that reply Agoattamer!
I actually just figured that out myself about an hour ago as I got the tethering notice in the mail today from AT&T, which was dated a few days ago. Playing with the phone and the text I got were yesterday, so seeing as they mailed this letter out before that, I now know they were on me before and the goatbreaking and gps unlocking aren't why.

Since you are so knowledgeable and informative, I would like to ask you more about tethering and I apologize if I should be looking for a different thread topic but.....

I know they are cracking down and I know that it is technically against their CURRENT terms of service, but I feel that I was lied to because first of all, I have a NON-SMART phone, as you know the Impression is, and I have the UNLIMITED Data for Non-Smart phones plan, which I was TOLD by ATT reps ON THE PHONE as well as in stores last year that I could tether with it all I wanted. I have no way of knowing or proving if their terms of service were different a year ago, but I am assuming their argument for that would be that it is in their TOS that they reserve the right to change their terms, but i never was notified. I never got anything before about this. Do I know I have been doing something that would likely  come to an end? sure, but I feel that they should honor what they sold me and grandfather me in, even if they changed their terms within their terms. I will simply change carriers when my contract is up. It's not like I am gonna sue them myself, but I would love to see a class-action on this.

I also wonder, if I continued to tether, how would they even put me on a "tethering plan" since when I log into my account online and visit "manage features" there is no option for anything BUT "data unlimited for no-smart phones" because all of my phones are not smart phones and their system correctly sees them as such, so how will their own system even charge me? I suppose they might just cut me off, which wouldn't bother me at all! I would then simply be giving them LESS of my money, not more, which will happen anyway if nobody figures a way around their BS and I can no longer tether my phones, which is about all I use them for.

I have been reading a lot about hiding your traffic with APN, etc, etc, but I assume that can't be done with a non-smart phone such as Impression, and/or may be too difficult/risky for me to figure out and chance.

Any feedback appreciated.
