Lots of tips all that have been said before. The  biggest. Make sure your phone is set on pc-studio in usb connectivity. Try rebooting your phone. Then try rebooting your computer. Keep the cable plugged in to the phone and computer when rebooting. Try not to be running any apps on your computer.

Hey goat, your instruction worked like a champ!  Ran into a little bit of trouble getting TK to connect to my Impression.  Finally got it to work by setting the default USB Connection method to PC Studio (found under: settings/connectivity/select usb mode), rather then selecting the option every time I connected the cable.  Perhaps, it may be a good idea to include this special notation in your tutorial for others using the Impression.  Thanks again for the work you do.

Yes I guess i will have to give a connecting to TK tutorial. But yes I have to do the same thing. IT HAS TO BE ON PC-STUDIO to get the connection. I'll look at Joe Dirts guide and make the changes.

Need some help here.  I'm not receiving a signal from the satellites and seeing a red satellite on the top left of the screen.

What am I doing wrong here?

I installed a signed version of amazegps from wap.amazegps.com.

I also deleted the manifest.mf and the appdb folder.

Is there something else I should be doing?  Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you have done everything right. Are you going outside in the open sky to allow the connection? Are you in an area with 3G reception. I just returned from a trip and I tested Amaze thoroughly and found it did not like to connect with a week signal.

Goattamer,

I'd really like to use the goatbreaking method to give full permissons to an email app I've been trying to use with my impression.  This app is one of the few with enough options and settings needed to connect to my finicky IMAP email server.  But because is not signed, AT&T won't let it connect to the network.  "not authorized to use API"

But, I use a Mac at home and thus cannot use TKFE.

Is there anyone who would be willing to download the app, goatbreak it and then send it back?

The app is VimoMail,  I'll attach it.

Also here is a link to the wap download.
http://vimomail.com/vimoMail.jad

I'd be most grateful to anyone who can help!

The actual goatbreaking doesnt change anything in the app. It is an install method. There is no other way. It has to be done on your phone. Cant you get use of a friend's pc?

Using the amAze GPS, If you are on a "E" Network and not on a "3" or "3G" network, will it still work? I am on a E network where I live and it is really really slow loading up. And it seems hard to navigate through the menus to get where you are. It is a neat app. What is the difference between MG and WeTravel. Do they all act the same or are there menus alittle big different.

thx

mgmaps is alot like google maps except it uses a gps. Wetravel is still in its beta phase. I have been following it but it is still unuseable on our phones still.

Being in the edge things will be a little slower for loading maps. Amaze is best used with a stylus. Touch points are tight.
