I have been receiving emails from people who have entered their service menu and changed some values. Some have changed values by mistake and others just want the original values. I have uploaded the 4 files that contain the ear, spk, rcv, and bluetooth original values. These four files can be used in 2 ways. The first is for reference in case you messed up and want to know what the original values were or they can be re-written using TKFileExplorer over the original ones in  your phone to restore volume settings back to the way it was originally.

They are located in the phone at SystemFS\Drivers. These are the original unchanged files.

Yes I noticed something like that. I did a few tests on my phone. I tried the rebuild to see what would happen. And when I did values were way off what they were originally. Quite possibly is the rebuild doesnt put it back to the way you bought the phone. Just insert the file anyways and reboot your phone. Then go back into the service menu and see that the values have been changed.

I noticed that too with the rebuild function...i tried it and nothing happened. I went ahead and inserted the file il reboot and see what i got. So to edit anything else...just upload using tk to my desktop/edit then download back to the driver folder right?

You can upload the file and make changes and then download it back to the phone. Or if you want it back to the original just overwrite the phone's files with my originals. Works for me. Its a little easier than playing in the service menu. Just make sure your editing is correct. Leaving spaces or adding spaces can mess things up. But as long as those 4 files stay in the first post it should be an easy fix restoring your settings. You will notice for volume settings there is 14 instead of seven. I am unsure what the odd numbers are since we have changed the evens through the service menu. The odds might be the volume for outdoors or another sound profile.

Agoattamer,

I apologize in advance for this, but I'm really a rookie at this.  I see the settings you've listed, to change the volume, but where do I go on the phone to change them?
I looked in settings and found nothing that I can change.

Please walk me through it, if you can.  If you want to do this via email, so as not to take up space in the forum, my email is cyefan56#aol.com.

The volume is terrible, and I have to do something to improve it.

Thanks!

I can use it......as soon as you tell me how to.
Like I said, I'm new to all this, but a fast learner.

Well there are instructions on the forum on using TKFE.

http://www.samsung-impression.org/index.php?topic=371.0

That tells how to install games but it has all the guts to get TKFE working.

What volume do you want to change? There are many different things you do on the phone and they all have different volume settings.

Thanks, agoattamer!  I want to increase the speakerphone volume, and the media player volume.  I tried to show someone a video on youtube, and it was embarrassing how low it was.

I'll check out the tkfile explorer when I get home tonight, and let you know.

I too need to increase the Speaker Phone volume when on a call. The volume is too low and very hard to hear when driving.   Angry

How might one increase just the speakerphone volume during calls and not increase the volume for everything else, like music or games?  Is this possible?

FYI, I have TKFE and I know how to use it, just need to know the wheres, whats, and hows.

Thanks in advance...

To increase your speakerphone read this thread. It will tell you how to increase a volume. But there are like alot of volumes on the phone. I think the one you will want is:

Dial this in your keypad like you were making a call. *#197328640# press '8' for audio, press '3' for spk, press '3' for call config, press '1' for SPK Rx Call Vol

Edit those numbers as this thread explains
http://www.samsung-impression.org/index.php?topic=222.0

I would start by adding 4 to each number and reboot phone and see if that helps. Then try adding another 4 to increase it more. The #6 value is the highest volume setting. You may only wish to edit just that number. 12.0db to 16.0db. Not loud enough then raise it to 20.0db. Again phone has to be rebooted for changes to take place.

Hey, goat. I have a question for ya.

A while back I increased the phone's volume by uploading the 4 config files from the other thread. I love the new volume levels, but apparently my mic sensitivity is too high and background noises sound very loud to others. I've had several people ask me what the heck was going on in the background while there really wasn't anything loud going on at all.

Which settings do I need to adjust to get only the mic sensitivity back to the default settings? I want to keep the other volumes levels where they are.

Thanks! I appreciate it.

Mic settings when using the regular phone?

Install this file on your phone. It is just like the increased volume file except I took out mod for mic.
