I am one of those people that came from the VU...That forum ROCKED!! Lets do the same here! IT"S TIME THE IMPRESSION GOT A TASTE OF WHAT THE VU GOT...

The Impression is what I hoped LG would follow the VU with, large beautiful screen, better touch control, faster internet and more processor power!! I'm truly digging this Impression.

Wow I thought I was the only one that switched from Vu to Impression haha. Impression > Vu .. nuff said lol. I hacked my Vu and thought it was going to be fun but it was still a piece of crap. I don't really care if the impression can't do themes.. at least it can load pictures faster and I can text on it without having to backspace every other letter. Impression FTW.

I thought I'd miss the themes too but with the way I have this Impression setup it is perfect.  Main Screen widgets for Time, date, weather, FM Radio, Favorite web sites, Google Search and Top 8 Contacts all just a touch away.
Having Google Maps, 4 browsers, Mobile Wiki, Gmail, Calender with reminder tones not to mention 7 Full length movies installed on my card,,,, I don't miss my VU at all lol..

I always said they should make a VU II with a bigger screen and qwerty keyboard and it looks like they did LOL.. LG VU Plus is coming soon.
It looks like the Impression wth less internal memory and  a bit smaller Disply screen and sadly for LG it isn't AMOLED like the Impression.. this AMOLED screen is so bright and vibriant compared to the others, can't understand why there isn't more being released with it??  Even the Mythic by samsung which was released after the Impression doesn't have it...  Strange
Think I'll be staying with the Impression Smiley

The Vu Plus has a capacitive touch screen (which will probably suck anyway)...but it's not going to drive me away from the Impression. Samsung Impression SGH-A877 FTW, Impression buddies!

i came to the impression from a blackberry curve. with the blackberry, i was not only able to customize the theme, i also bought a new white housing (not a case) and a yellow trackball. it was very customized, but the call quality started to degrade and the phone was overall very boring.

the thing about the impression is, it looks like samsung came to me and asked me how i wanted it to look and work. i wouldn't change a thing about it. i love the dark interface. everything is mostly black backgrounds and white or teal text. and the home screen has black transparencies. it's way cooler than any skins i could find for my blackberry. also, the dark blue-green color of the body of the phone is gorgeous and, while i always want a bigger screen, the screen on this phone is so awesome. some phones have screens that are too square and some are too wide and the impression's is just right.

i am sorry some people have the text bug bad. i experience it once in a while, but i had a samsung blackjack that was way more buggy. rather than have to restart while sending an outgoing text, i would miss incoming texts constantly and almost always not receive mms.

as for comparing the impression to other feature phones, it is very zippy and i read a couple of articles that said it has a 300+mhz processor. it seems really beefy for a "dumbphone"  it's really too bad we don't have more information on the firmware of the impression.  it's a great little piece of hardware.

Way cool layout!  I ended up taking a picture of pure blackness and use that for my background.  looks great.  Does the weather widget require internet access or media plan?
