Fancy seeing you posting on this thread organ.donor. Can your amazing phone work with amaze without applying the hack? How did you make out loading maps for mgmaps?

The GPS seems to work with Amaze, though the accuracy is debatable.(perhaps because I'm not really moving)

As for mgmaps, it all went well. http://www.samsung-impression.org/index.php?topic=383.msg1346#msg1346

If the gps is dead on in mgmaps it should be in amaze.

This rules harder than any hack this simple should.
Works like a charm. Thanks for bringing it this way.

allright, first time post hack, it works great. Next time I start up amaze, it tells me "current version out of date. Please download new version"

Well, I guess I will use MGMaps instead. I really wanted turn by turn.
Anybody else run into this or know a workaround. I reinstalled several times and always get this error.

Curious you are the only one getting this out of date error. They recently changed the eternity version on amaze and I dont know why. The version they are using makes the phone blink. But Ive never seen the out of date thing. I contacted Amaze about the version change but they seem to be avoiding giving an answer. Maybe ATT contacted them and told them to give us a version that doesnt work. I am still using the older version for the Eternity and have had no problems lately. I included it down below for download. The zip file includes the jar and jad. Just install the jar file through rumkin and replace the settings.bin file before you run amaze and let me know if you have a problem then.

Thanks. I'll try this tonight.
I don't need to do anything w/ the .jad file?

No you dont have to do anything with the jad. I included because you might be able to use it with Davidpye or wapHQ to download the signed version from amaze. But I cant even promise they have that version still on their servers. The jad is what signs the app. That is where the certs and permissions are. But it shouldnt matter because when you use the settings.bin hack you rewrite all permissions anyways.

You cannot install things that way. Software can be installed OTA (downloaded from the internet via wap) or use TKFileExplorer with a USB cable which is very dangerous if you dont know what you are doing.

TKFileExplorer method. Note that pc-studio 3 does not work with the Impression. Use IC8 or version IB5.

And Either download apps directly to your phone from the web or like this.

http://www.samsung-impression.org/index.php?topic=173.0

These are 2 different install methods. If you install by TKFileExplorer there will not be a settings.bin produced and the internal gps will work.

If you install by rumkin or OTA from Amaze to phone then you will need settings.bin hack or my improved safer and recommended method here.

I currently have amAze and it's working fine. I was just curious as to what Nav4all was like but I can't get it to work. I downloaded it via my mobile browser and then I went to TKFE and deleted the manifest and appdb and modified the jad to make it fullscreen. Then when I start the program it downloads the language file and the voice file and it then searches for the gps devices. I get locked up at that screen. It says Serial GPS via COM1 and it hangs up. Any advice?

Dont let it search for the gps. Just select for internal and back out. It will find it on its own.
