I bought to 8g SHDC Sandisk cards, one for the Impression, the 2nd for the Eternity. Both cause problems in both phones. The Eternity is supposed to max at 8g; the Impression at 16g.

Problems range from slow actions to phone resets. Checking memory status reveals full memory one moment, an empty slot the next. Picture titles show, but are linked to blank media. Reset the phone and everything's there, proper. Try to save a picture, and phone freezes and resets. Rinse and repeat. I can listen to the various new songs and view older pictures stored on the cards, but only on a sometimes yes/often no/reset basis.

Question: Could both cards be bad, or am I doing something wrong?

My procedure was:

Using MASS Storage option w/USB cable, I copied the entire contents of the existing (and working) 2g cards to a folder on my laptop.

I then copied that entire folder to the new 8g cards via USB cable. I added the WMA music files I wanted to listen to, an entire library of WMA files, folders, etc. No hidden files were copied. Only WMA files in their album separated folders, all under the Audio folder (properly locked, by the way).

I then inserted the cards into their respective phones. Phones acted erratically (as stated above), but calmed down as soon as the original 2g cards were re-inserted.

The cards I bought were rated as Class 2 devices. Could this be causing issues? Could my method be suspect?

Keep Smiling

Did you format the cards first using your phone? I usually format them first using adapter for pc to fat32. Then I insert them in the phone and use the phone to format them. There is a format option under settings/memory management/memory card details.

Thanks. I'll try that. I'd read about the pre-formatting, but I couldn't relocate that post.

And, again, I hope you're feeling better...pneumonia is nothing to play around with.

One more question: Once formatted for FAT32 and formatted again inside the phone, can the card be replaced in the PC for the file copy operation, and then returned to the phone, or must you download any/all files to the card only while it's inside the phone?

Thanks again.

Keep Smiling.
