So I woke up this morning at exactly the time I'm supposed to be LEAVING the house.  Looked at my phone, which I use as my only alarm clock, and the screen was lit up, the alarm symbol was flashing and showed the curved slider bar at the bottom, but there was NO SOUND.

I've been a bit skeptical about the alarm clock on this phone since I got it.  A couple of times before, I found that a couple of the alarms had somehow disabled themselves.  I had to go to the menu and turn them back on.  Not a comforting feeling.

Anyone else had this problem?

no problems here. you have to make sure that the alarm you are using is set to go off one time if needed or all week. also make sure a  tone is selected.

YES   and sometimes I just happen to see a light flash on my phone and I happen to look and it was the alarm suppposed to be going off.  The only way I find to fix it is to restart the phone.     Angry

Hi everyone. Just got my Impression yesterday and this is my first post...

I didn't want to start a new thread  but I have a different, though related, issue that I couldn't find asked here after a quick search of these forums.  (mods: if this warrants its own thread, feel free to split it)

I set my alarm last night and this morning it worked fine. I used the snooze feature 2 or 3 times.  After hitting snooze the final time I didn't turn the alarm off (because I was planning to snooze) but I couldn't go back to sleep so I started surfing youtube on my phone.  The alarm never went off again - which I suppose is fine because at that point I was awake anyway.

But now I have the blue "alarm" icon in the middle of my idle screen.  When I touch it, it brings me to the alarms page but I can't make it go away. I turned off my alarms.  I deleted my alarms. I turned the phone off and back on.  I "RESET" my alarms (Settings > Reset Settings > Alarms) .... and that damn icon is still in the middle of my screen.  WTF?

Any ideas?  Thanks!

Thats an easy fix. Open up your widget bar on the left and drag the alarms widget into the bar. Glad your alarm worked for you.

Sweet! thanks!  guess I'm still just getting used to how everything works  Grin

this is a pretty great forum. I was poking around yesterday and really appreciated a lot of the info I found - especially the link to download the "better" sync software!

You must have brought it over from the side menu.  Open the side bar and slide it back over to that and it will be gone.

hope you enjoy.

You should turn on "auto power-on" when you are in the alarm clock settings.

I have the same problem too. It's only happened a couple of times before today and my phone is always turned on, but when it failed me this morning, I tested the alarm by setting it a few minutes ahead and watched it, and it never rang. No flash, no blue clock. The little yellow alarm icon was still displayed on top of the screen. What gives? My phone is my only alarm clock!

I think this has been addressed elsewhere....but, if you "edit" an existing alarm (i.e. one that has already been made) for some reason the edited alarm won't work.  So, the easiest thing to do is just create a new alarm everytime you need to change the time.  My alarm works every single time as long as I create a new alarm if i need to edit it and it works everyday as long as I don't change any of the settings for the new alarm.  You don't have to create a new alarm everyday if you plan on waking up at the same time each day (as long as you have it set to go off on the days you need it).  Hope this helps

Hmm curious. I'll try that next time. I rebooted my phone and the alarm worked again. I read on the ATT forum that some ATT salespeople advised the customers to reboot it once in a while without explaining why. This is silly, we shouldn't have to reboot our phone constantly. Thanks for the non-editing tip, though.

To refresh the memory you should reboot your phone once a day.

from my experience, the alarm fails when same time as the txt bug, (when the txts say sending, and never goes away orf even sends) what i do to remedy it is i frestart my phone daily before i go to bed. this stupid alarm thing has caused me to be late to work on multiple occassions. i also bought a $10 alarm clock from walmart for just in case situations.
