Applications not needing data plan

I read the thread about third-party software [www.samsung-impression.org/third-party-samsung-impression-software/applications-for-the-samsung-impression/] and was excited to see some of the titles.  I understand that the "Opera Mini Browser" and the streaming music players should be used with a data plan, but the "Instant Message" programs I am unsure about.  For the record, I have the Unlimited Messaging plan on my AT&T account only.  If someone will post which of the listed softwares require data (and the softwares that don't) and in future posts too, that would be very beneficial to all members who don't have a data plan.

The listed programs I am interested in knowing if they use data are:
- eBuddy v1.4.1,
- Shazam,
- WikiMobile,     
- KD Music Player, 
- Palringo v1.7
