OK... I'm going to ask..

We have the Tumbling Dice app, but would it be possible for someone to take it one step further and make a great party game/app out of this?

The game is called L.C.R. (Left, Right, Center)

Everyone starts with equal amount of chips (i.e. money, $3, $6, $15 (increments of 3) and you roll the three dice.  On each die, there are an "L" a "C" and an "R" as well as blank dots.

If you roll, say, 2 "L's", you pass two of your 'chips" to the left, leaving you with one 'chip'.  Play continues around, when it's your turn, if you have say one "chip" left, you only roll one die.  Play continues until the last person with a 'chip' and that person wins the pot.

Great party game.  Think it would be gr8 on the phone.

For those who dont know about it, here are some links to read about it...

Nope, not possible to modify or even locate the Tumbling Dice app in the file system. We also have no access to the accelerometer. Sorry. Sounds like fun though.

My Tumbling Dice Theory:

The proprietary Samsung OS is more than likely written in C/C++. The phone has OpenGL support which is written in C and is accessible with a Java API. The reason I bring this up is because Tumbling Dice is 3D and that is what OpenGL is for. The accelerometer on the other hand does not seem to be supported through the generic Java API. It may be proprietary as well. However, when you start up Tumbling Dice the Java loading screen doesn't display. That doesn't necessarily prove that it's not Java either. That is why it's just my theory that Tumbling Dice is written in C/C++. It would have direct access to OpenGL and the accelerometer.

so if i read that correctly we could download the game to our computer and use software editing (i have visual basic 2008 which can open C++ programs) and we should get the coding for the game

please correct me if i am wrong or somewhat on track

Possibly. The problem is that we currently do not have a copy of the game to mess with. There are a large number of files that are hidden to TKFE, primarily all of the system programs. If we find a way to access these, that is an entirely different world we would be messing with, and we cant really speculate too much as to what that would allow us to do.

Theory people. lol. I have no hard evidence for my claims. It's just a theory. I am 99.99% sure that the OS is written is C/C++ though. What other logical option is there? They didn't do it in assembly and it is not Java despite what some may think. There is only one Java mobile phone OS that I know of and I think the project was scrapped because there is no new information on it.

I'm just guessing on Tumbling Dice. There is no wait time in the load. If it was written in C, it has been compiled into some sort of executable which is not readable. Just a theory. I like to be proved wrong. Wink

Right, but programs can be decompiled. Our real problem remains finding it.

I dont know if im right but a lot of programs use the accelerometer such as medianet and the keyboard so there has to be more than one way to find it but idk...im not a god like bantam and agoat...

Niether are we. Well I cant speak for bantam. If anyone could ever find a way it would be bantam. At this point java apps just cant access the accelerometer.
