You might think it should but the application wasnt made to rotate on command. We added that jad attribute. So just reload the page.

Is there a way to use the new Opera Mini 5 beta w/o the on screen keyboard? I like everything else about the update to Opera Mini except the keyboard.

Click on the wrench and select settings and then select advanced. Turn off 'Fullscreen edit".

It is already set to off. The keyboard still shows up.

Edited to add: Oooh, I turned it on. Guess what? That's what I want!  I don't want to use the virtual keyboard on the screen. I want to use the slider.

EDIT: Goat, gave you a cookie for being such a helpful member of this community even if this time it was inadvertently!

DUDE! THIS IS SO KICK BUTT!!!

The >>ONLY<< thing i didn't like about the impression was the crappy web browser... and the only thing i didn't like about Opera was the crappy bar it puts at the bottom taking up half the damn screen..
THIS FIXES BOTH MY PROBLEMS!
Turning my phone into a super awesome phone!
I LOVE YOU MAN!

Been playing around with 1.7 and I like it.  Seems to do much better than 1.5 at dealing with https sites like my home banking.  There's a new "Web Apps" section that has some widgets for things like weather, IM.  I tried a couple that looked interesting but they seemed to duplicate what I was able to do on the browser with saved favorites, but with more button clicks.

Just curious, has anybody else noticed that according to the Opera site, they just released an update to their Opera Mini. It says it is now 4.2, yet I looked in my "about" portion of my Opera Mini and we already have 4.2. Here's the site address, there are definite changes it seems http://www.opera.com/mini/features/

There are many opera mini updates. They are 4.2.something but are all 4.2. Last update to opera mini that I made was on the first post.

Do not confuse opera mini 4.2 and opera mini beta v5.2

Final version of Opera Mini 5 released on 3-16-10.
I'll wait to install when my 8gb micro sd card arrives from ebay.

I recently ditched my impression and now have a nokia 5800.  Opera Mini 5 runs fast as can be on this phone.  I think the lag on the keyboard when using the impression is due to the device being underpowered:(  I enjoyed my time with the impression, but I'm not really missing it.
