Update: I've successfully gotten GMaps 3.02 onto both the Impression and the Eternity. The GPS locks faster than the old 2.3.2 version (Motorola), on both phones.

Both Latitude and Streetview work properly. (SV works faster than 2.3.2, too).

I also answered the question I raised above, namely that both versions can co-exist on both phones (but you must name the game folder differently). However, now that I can see 3.02 is doing all things well and correctly, I plan to remove 2.3.2.

I'm very glad to have the latest version (and probably the last version) for these soon-to-be-outdated phones (and their already antiquated Operating systems).

Thanks for all the work done here, by all participants.

Keep Smiling

Also this application can be installed with the TKFE and master key install method.[/quote]

If we install this through TKFE or Memory Card, do we have to still do steps 5-9?

No, just install the correct jar and jad using TKFE. There would be no reason to replace the jad then. Correct?

Hi...

i have a similar problem but with my Samsung Monte (S5620). It has a GPS and the GPS module locks in to satellites in some time if you test it stand alone (Menu-> Settings->Phonesettings->GPS settings->Gps position).
However if one tries to access the GPS using Google maps (pre installed version 3.0.2) or GPS tracking softwares (like GPSed) I get a sunburn but the google maps does not show my position using GPS (it uses the triangalutaionmethod and displays waiting for GPS).

I tried the way for Samsung impression think it might work but in vain...

While i was going through registry i could find one ini file LbsConfig.ini. Below are the settings if they are of any help Smiley

For those of you that have downloaded google maps from google mobile and were disappointed as to not receive the touch version I have the solution for you.  Matter of fact I have one better for you.  How would you like your google maps to work with the gps? Follow my directions.

1) Delete any previous versions of google maps

2) Download the jar and the jad below to your computer

3) Upload the jar to Imserba   http://www.imserba.com/wapupload/ and follow directions to install on phone
may work with rumkin but not tested

4) Do not run google maps yet

5) Connect you phone to your computer using TKFE

6)  Navigate to the google maps folder and delete the jad and the appdb folder

7)  In the top pane of TKFE navigate to where you have the jad that you downloaded

8 ) Download the jad to your phone replacing the one you deleted

9) Rename the jad exactly like the jar. ex: AB123456.JAD

10) Disconnect and go outside and start google maps allowing the gps to connect

11) Enjoy

Also this application can be installed with the TKFE and master key install method.

Updated on 7/4/2010 to version 3.0.2.  This version has the google latitude that everyone has been wanting.
hey goat jus one more thing does this have anything to do with or coincide with the how to allow full 3rd party apps and gps section?

If you installed through imserba then the names will be different. That is how it was when that post was written. Rumkin would not have changed the names. And if you install through tKFE then you do not need this step. Just install the jad and jar through TKFE and be done with it.

Don't get confused. The process above is goatbreaking. But since you have to use their jad and CANNOT download it from their servers we have to do the jad switcheroo. Or just simply install google maps with TKFE and get it done and overwith.
