At some point and time i was able to so this, and it was AWESOME

I didnt have to click on the screen to get the blue screen, then click on that to get the virtual keyboard screen to type.
I dont know how that happened or what I did to cause it to happen.
When i ended my chat session and closed the app, It has NEVER done it since.
Ive tried everything i can think of: Using T9, Symbols, pressing FN + Shift + Sym, etc....
Does ANYONE know how to make this happen? I really hate having to type using the Virtual keyboard after a year of ownership i still stink at using it.
Please Help, ive got some fresh baked cookies in the oven for ya ....
