Me & my wife got a nice freebie deal on ATT family plan service, w/a free Impression & Solstice.

I was surprised to see that the Solstice (I sort of thought it was Impression Junior) had several more basic programs installed that were really quite nice. First of all, the Nuance or whatever it's called, that gives you voice command option for many of the functions, like: calling <spoken name>, opening apps, searching address book content, etc.

Now, how do I go about accessing the jar/jad files on my wife's Solstice, to maybe copy some of it's programs over to my Impression? I understand it's got no USB, but do you use TKFE with BlueTooth, or Windows Explorer, or something like LiteFTP and Bluetooth  on the Impression? Duh....

Anyone tried transferring the voice command utility over to the Impression? Does it work, any hacks needed, etc.?

i have the impression and my mom has the solstice Cheesy I was on the solstice site and it said that if you use voice command, it ruins your speakerphone :S You might wanna check it out if you haven't used it yet http://www.samsung-solstice.com/general-samsung-solstice-discussion/echo-if-using-speakerphone-after-voice-command-is-used/

I know this doesn't answer your question, but I thought i'd just show it to you Smiley

I dont believe the nuance is a java application. I believe the rest of the free applications are already installed on the impression.

Orange giraffe,

I did use the voice command utility on her Solstice quite a few times during a road trip. Worked great. No problems we've seen as yet.

Thanks for your comment. Two questions....

1) Do you think that the Nuance voice control utility will work on the Impression, if it works on the Solstice? Or might it be really only configured to the Solstice?

2) How do I copy from the Solstice to the Impression? Bluetooth direct; Bluetooth from Solstice to PC and then to Impression? I've copied several apps and games using the "Goatbreaking" instructions and the USB cord. But have not yet tried read/write to & from the Solstice.

I'd appreciate your comments, since you're fluent in both of these mobile units.

As I stated above I dont believe the nuance is a java application. Seems to be embedded in the firmware. You cant install it if there isnt a jad and a jar for it.

Just use the TKFE method...its probly all the same. Look in the 'exe' folder starting from the root...theyll probly be there.

Hmmmm, maybe somebody didnt hear me. The Nuance is not a java application and is not found anywhere in the exe folder.
