Well Americo and I have done another app for you. This is WikiMobile. The mobile version of Wikipedia. It does require data. It also has a special install method in order to get around the subscription fee. Download, install and enjoy it.

Another fine app brought to you by the A-Team.

*Download the jar and the jad file below to your computer.
*Install the jar using Rumkin wap uploader. http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/
*No need to run the app after install.
*Connect your phone to the computer and start up TKFileExplorer.
*Navigate with TKFE on the phone to the A-WikiMobile folder.
*Delete the jad, the manifest.mf, and the appdb folder.
*Download the jad that you got from here with TKFE to your phone replacing the one you just deleted.
*Disconnect and start up A-WikiMobile.
*Enjoy

I got everything ready for the install...will do it tomorrow, was going
to do it tonite and those pesky mosquito's were eating me up outside
coz my phone doesn't have much of a signal in my house, Lol

install was uneventful on my impression... thank you for the excellent directions!
the app launches without issue, but it did not seem have touchscreen support.
perhaps i did something wrong?

It is touch screen. If it wasnt how would you select anything. Load it up and hit search. Tap in the blue bar and you can use qwerty or dial pad to eneter your search query. Hit ok and ok. It says connecting and your page comes up.you can turn pages by swiping it like a book. You have menu and back buttons down below that are also touchscreen.

Is that not what you see? if it isnt then I suspect you didnt do something correctly.

you are right, i didn't explain that very well, i apologize... i couldn't figure out how to make the pages scroll...  Embarrassed

i was trying to drag the articles up and down like a web page... which didn't work.
swiping left and right to turn the pages "like a book" did the trick!

thanks for sharing your wisdom and all of your hard work!

Can I ask, what does it mean that it does not use data? BTW, I have never used the app. Also, Do we delete the original app on the phone before installing? thx

Wikimobile does use data, it connects to the internet. No you dont have to delete your original. I changed the name of wikimobile so your phone thinks its a different program than the one you have installed. But my impression didnt come with wiki mobile pre-installed. I thought only the eternity's came with wikimobile. In any case just install exactly like I have written in the first post.
